ABSTRACT 1:
MERENGUE...
The merengue is a style musical and of dance originated in the Caribe, specifically in the dominican Republic to principles of century XIX.
The merengue has elements of the contredanse, the mazurka and the European waltz, whose influence spread throughout Haiti, Venezuela and the Antilles , which was a accompanied by traditional instruments like the soprano, the treble, the four, the six and the twelve, plus later , wich the tambora , guiro, mandolin and accordion.

ABSTRACT 2:
HISTORY OF MERENGUE...
The musical structure of the merengue in to the from which can be considered more representatives. Consisted of walking, bodt or merengue, an trouble. All music is written at rate of 2x4 and there are discrepancres in the number of bars each part should therefore be abused at times to lengthen "ad infinitum"
The choreography: The merengue is reduced to the following: the man ad womanintert wined moving sideways in what is called "passing of the fence" the can torn right or left. This is thereal "games merengue" in which couples were not separated ever. There is also what is know as the "merengue figure" in which couples weremany changes and embellishments or "vase" as it was called, but always without letting go.

In Medellin there are some schools that deal with teaching people to dance all types of music, but we focused only on those who teach to dance merengue.
In Confenalco give Classes of  merengue, have a duration of twenty hours and developed with the intensity of two hours weekly.
Have a different cost depending on the type of Membership:
A affiliate: thirty-nine thousand eight hundred pesos
B affiliate: forty-three thousand  pesos
C affiliate: fifty-one thousand pesos
D affiliation or unaffiliated: Sixty-four thousand four pesos
